- Enter the street address of the party.
- Enter city, state, zip, country, etc.
- Enter any comments you would like to make.
- Enter the company or person's name.
- Enter the person to whom you want to contact within a
- company. This field is optional. Leave it blank if
- you entered the person's name in the previous field.
- Enter the phone extension if any. This is an optional
- field.
- Welcome to The Phone Database! You are in the MENU with
- the following options:
- Phone
- this is the main program where you can
- view, add, and delete names, addresses,
- phone numbers, and comments.
- Print Report
- print a report of all records
- Quit
- return to DOS (ESCAPE also quits)
- Enter the party's phone number.
- You are in the PHONE LIST TABLE. COMPANY/NAME and PHONE
- are listed in a scrolling table. Use the cursor keys to go
- to the record you want to edit, add, or delete. The Name
- Locator allows you to locate a name by typing the name.
- F5 will dial the number that the highlite bar is on.
- You must have first entered your comport the modem
- is on by pressing F7.
- F7 will allow you to choose which comport your modem is
- on. You will not be able to have SWITCHBOARD dial
- a number without this information. If you don't
- know which comport your modem is on, consult your
- installer of the modem or your supervisor.
- WARNING: SPECIFYING THE WRONG COMPORT MAY CRASH THE PROGRAM
- Ins will add a record
- Del will delete a record
- Enter will allow you to change a record or just view it
- You are in the UPDATE FORM. Records can be added,
- deleted, or edited here. A message bar will blink below
- the title "UPDATE FORM" indicating the action that will be
- taken if you press Ctrl Enter. If you change your mind and
- want to return to the phone table press Esc.
- Use the left and right arrow keys to select the comport
- your modem is on. If you choose "None" you will disable
- the dialling capability of SWITCHBOARD.
- WARNING: If you choose the wrong comport this program may
- crash while attempting to dial a number.
- If you are not sure or don't know which comport your
- modem is on consult the person who installed the modem
- and choose "None" for now. You can always come back
- later.
- Food for thought: No question is to dumb to ask.
- Use the left and right arrow keys to answer either yes
- or no if the phone number of the party is long distance.
